I can only hope that our government here in Canada have the sense to funnel some cash into this jet to make a combat ready version if it performs as well or better than the Super Hornet or Gripen. That's exactly what will happen in Brazil with its purchase of the Gripen NG variants, so there's demonstrably no resistance to the idea on Saab's part.
