Lockheed to get $37 million (each!) to upgrade to the F-22.

"CHA-CHING!"

Just to show how obscenely expensive the F-22 is, and how out of whack U.S. defence spending is, the Pentagon has announced a $6.9 Billion dollar "modernization program" to the F-22 fleet.  Suspiciously just prior to a possible "sequestration" forcing budget cuts.

That works out to $37million per airplane, for 185 airplanes.  For "modernization" upgrades.

Yikes.

  1. Looks like the F-22 is already outdated, if each one needs a $ 37 million upgrade.
